Deciding what entertainment to provide at your wedding is probably one of the most exciting and fun part of the organising- you get to sample plenty of discos and even singers before you decide which one to opt for. Nowadays it’s becoming more common for brides and grooms to host longer wedding ceremonies over a period of a few days rather than just the one day, and so guests get to spend more time with the bride and groom and other family members. If this is you, then you will want to make it worth their while and provide an exceptional time that no one, not even you, will forget. Here are a few ideas for some perfect party entertainment.

Before the wedding ceremony, it is a good idea to host a welcome dinner to get everyone together, and for anyone who hasn’t done so yet to meet the bride and groom and other family members. However, this is not to eclipse the main dinner on the wedding day itself, so make this a relaxed and informal event and don’t worry about anything for the night. Some couples host a rehearsal dinner before the ceremony, so you could combine the two together. This could also be a great opportunity to celebrate with anyone who is unable to attend on the big day.

If you are not keen on having the two separate dinners but fancy something else, a late-night outing could be a great idea- going to a few night clubs to enjoy some dancing, a few drinks on a local yacht for some class, or even hosting a late night BBQ can all prove to be fun for all. If you are away in a hot country or even at home near a beach and the weather is warm, it can make a great get-together paddling in the sea at midnight!

The wedding entertainment itself usually consists of dancing and music, whether you hire a DJ or a wedding singer for the event. Other ideas can include comedians and performers in general, or getting the whole family dancing up and down the street which doesn’t cost a penny. Everyone could also play games such as bingo or wedding lottery (the special tickets would need to be purchased beforehand), and these games are also a great way of entertaining the children. Once the wedding ceremony is over, not many people would fancy another celebration or get-together, but a post-wedding breakfast would make a perfect end to the festivities. Bringing out traditional foods for the morning is great for a final goodbye as everyone gets the chance to sit together once again to officially end the wedding celebrations.
