When planning a party of any kind, it is always great to have plenty of supplies available for your guests so that everyone can thoroughly enjoy the party. When it comes to wedding reception parties there is a wide range of both exciting and essential supplies that you just can’t do without. There are, of course, traditional items to consider such as wedding favours and place cards for the tables, but that is hardly the beginning! Here are a few essentials to help make your party really enjoyable and memorable.

First of all comes the wedding stationery. The stationery is perhaps the most important party supply you can purchase as this will include your wedding invitations- without these there won’t be anyone to attend your party! As well as the invites, you will find a great range of matching table numbers so that guests know where to go without any confusion, and then the wedding place cards so everyone knows exactly where to sit. If you desire, you can also purchase pretty little place card holders to make the table look smart, and guests will be delighted to be able to take them home afterwards. For extra fun after the meal, you may want to purchase some wedding lottery cards to play (and of course provide some fancy but simple pens to use). You will also want a matching guest book for the signatures and photograph album handy, and finally some Thank You cards that ideally match your invitations.

Next, you may want to think of a theme for your wedding such as a colour or a silhouette picture of the bride and groom. Once you have thought of a theme, you can then shop around for matching items that fit in with it, such as favours which your guests will love. Favours can be anything from a tiny box of chocolates to a miniature photo frame. You may also consider using tableware and accessories such as single colour or patterned plates, cutlery, napkins and cups. Tip- don’t go overboard with it as it can look too much and not particularly interesting. You may want to decorate your table with cute confetti or even litter it with lots of colourful diamantes. To top it all off, every table could come complete with a sparkling bottle of non-alcoholic bubbly to really set the party mood.

Now that you have all of the essentials sorted out, it’s time to start thinking about about the fun non-essentials that will help bring your party to life. Placing disposable cameras on the tables to help take snap shots of the happy couple and other guests is becoming quite common. These are usually handed back to the bride and groom to keep afterwards. You can also purchase wedding bubbles for the tables to help make the photos as colourful as possible, and party poppers and other noise makers are very popular with the children. If you’re really trying to push the boat out, wedding crackers are an excellent way of bringing the guests together and for them to win a few keepsakes. Other accessories can include sparklers, balloons, and CDs.

The party supplies don’t need to be for just the venue room- you may want to consider personalised banners, and pretty wedding car decorations such as flowers stitched with ribbons and bows to make a grand entrance. And finally, to finish off the party on a perfect note, you could all release a sky lantern each- much safer and more spectacular than fireworks.
